Plotline — GPS Land Area Calculator
com.buddy.plotline · Effective date: 20 October 2026Plotline measures the area and perimeter of land from a GPS walk or typed coordinates. It is made by an independent developer (contact below). This policy explains what the app does with data. In short: your fields and your location stay on your phone. The app shows no ads, has no account and no server of its own, and does not use the internet.
What stays on your phone
- Saved fields: names, notes, corner coordinates, area and perimeter are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are included in your own Android backup if you use one; the developer cannot access them.
- Settings: chosen units, custom units, GPS settings and whether Pro is unlocked.
- Location: precise location is read only while you run a GPS walk (shown by an ongoing notification). It is processed on the device to calculate the area and is never uploaded by Plotline or collected by the developer. The app does not use location in the background and does not ask for background location permission.

Third-party services
Google Play Billing processes the optional Pro purchase through the Google Play Store app on your phone. Payment details are handled by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy; the developer does not receive them.
Plotline contains no advertising, no advertising ID, and no analytics or tracking SDK.
Planned: satellite map. A future version may add drawing on a Google satellite map (Google Maps SDK for Android). That version would use the internet to load map imagery, and Google would receive technical data such as your IP address. This policy will be updated with the details before such a version is released.
Sharing and exports
When you share a field as text, KML or PDF, the file goes to the app you pick in Android's share menu (for example WhatsApp, Gmail or Drive). What happens next is governed by that app's policy.
Deleting your data
Delete a field from its page (trash icon), or uninstall the app to remove everything it stored. The developer keeps no copy of your data.
Children
Plotline is a measuring tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Accuracy
Results depend on the GPS signal and on where the corners are placed. Plotline is a measuring aid, not a legal survey.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
